Road feedback for India

Tell an owner how their vehicle was driven.Never share a phone number.

ATAP lets passengers and pedestrians report or praise a vehicle in about ten seconds. The owner sees a photo, the place and the time. They never see who you are.

No account needed. Report photos are kept for 90 days at most.

The gap

Complaints about driving usually go nowhere

A phone number painted on a school bus or a truck is often never answered. A car driven by a hired driver, or by a young family member, gives its owner no view of what happens on the road until a challan or a repair bill arrives.

Owners will not put their own number on a bumper, because of spam and harassment. Bystanders have no safe way to speak up. The two sides never meet, so nothing changes.

How it works

Three steps, no app to install

  1. 01

    Frame the plate

Open atap.in in your browser and take a photo of the number plate. Report only as a passenger or on foot, never while driving.

  2. 02

    Say what happened

Pick one: rash driving, overspeeding or a jumped signal, wrong side driving, obstruction, or praise for good driving. Add one line if you like.

  3. 03

    The owner is told

A verified owner gets the photo, the place and the time. They do not get your name, your number or your account, because there is none to share.

Private by design

Reporting only works if people feel safe doing it

Owners also need to trust what they receive. These are the rules built into ATAP today.

Read the privacy notice
  • You stay anonymous

Owners see the photo, the place and the time. We never pass on a phone number or account details, because reporting needs neither.

  • No public list of bad drivers

Reports about a vehicle are private. They are shown only to its owner, and only after the owner has proved the vehicle is theirs.

  • Owners are checked by a person

A reviewer looks at the registration certificate and a photo of the vehicle before anyone can see a single report.

  • Limits against abuse

Reports are limited per device, captures must be recent, and only one open claim is allowed per person for each vehicle.

  • Short retention

Report photos are kept for 90 days at most. Documents used to verify ownership are removed 30 days after the review.

The tags

A small tag for cars. A bigger one for fleets.

Scan a tag on a parked or slow vehicle to report in seconds. Private cars and cabs get a small matte black hexagon for the rear window. Buses, trucks and school vehicles get a larger plate with a reflective band. Tags are not on sale yet. Join the pilot to be among the first to get one.

Planned

Civic Roads

Verified users will be able to flag dangerous stretches, missing signage and potholes, so a whole area can see the problem and the right authority can be asked to fix it. People and individual vehicles are never named in public.

Questions

Things people ask first

Do I need an account to report a vehicle?

No. You open atap.in, take a photo, choose what happened and send it. Accounts are for owners who want to receive reports.

Is it safe to report while driving?

No, and ATAP asks you to confirm you are a passenger or on foot before the camera opens. Never use your phone while driving or riding.

Will the owner know who I am?

No. The owner sees the photo, the place, the time and your optional one line note. We do not share your phone number or any identity details.

What happens if nobody has claimed the vehicle?

The report is stored privately against the plate. Nobody can see it until an owner proves the vehicle is theirs, and then they see what was reported before they joined.

How does an owner prove a vehicle is theirs?

They upload the registration certificate and a photo of the vehicle showing its plate. A person at ATAP reviews both before approving.

Is a report legal evidence?

No. A report is feedback from a witness, with a photo, a time and a place. It can start a conversation with a driver or an operator. It is not proof in a legal dispute.

Can people file false reports?

We make it harder. Reports carry the time the photo was taken and old ones are refused, reports are limited per device, and unusual activity can be reviewed and blocked. No system is perfect, so owners should treat reports as signals, not verdicts.

What does ATAP cost?

ATAP is in pilot. Pricing for schools, fleets and agencies has not been set, and nobody is being charged.
